Stanley Ka Dabba Movie Review - FeedbackerTeam

Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius ? and a lot of courage ? to move in the opposite direction. This line has been very rightly quoted by E.F Schumacher. It seems Amol gupte has taken this line quite seriously. I think we have found our Majid majidi in the form of Amol Gupte but its long way for Amol to catch him.

Let me tell you one thing clearly, Stanley ka dabba is in no way similar to taare zameen par. Amol gupte again succeeds in making very lovable, out of the box movie which is very real at its core and never diverts from its theme. A young boy comes early in school before any of his classmates. He has water instead of dabba during lunch break. He is famous among his class mates and everyone adores him. He is ingenious with sparkling and quirky wit and yet innocence in his mannerism. He is none other than Stanley (Partho), the new protagonist of Stanley ka dabba.

Everything is going smooth with this child until one day Sir Babubhai Verma (Amol Gupte) shows up in the school as Hindi teacher and starts eating out everything on his way from lunch boxes of children in his class. Things go out of control for Stanley when he is asked to get his dabba. What is the reason behind Stanley not getting his lunch box? Movie shows life of everyday school going child and every one can easily relate with it. All the adults in movie have given good performance especially Amol gupte who stands out as scoundrel and you actually detest him. I think that?s the biggest achievement for Amol. But the one who leaves long lasting impression is none other than our protagonist.

The character, Stanley, tugs at your heartstrings with his never say die spirit, while distancing him from hostile world he is surrounded by at all times. On the whole, STANLEY KA DABBA is a sincere, noble, well-intentioned effort with shear earnestness that is not only for kids but for adults.
