Keith Olbermann has tapped former MSNBC colleague David Sarosi as executive producer of the reboot of his Countdown program on Current TV.
?
Sarosi produced the open and the ?worst person? segments on MSNBC?s Countdown. He was also a producer on the net?s special coverage team.
?
Sarosi, said Olbermann in a statement announcing the appointment, is ?intimately familiar with every other aspect of the production, and from his start with the show he has had both the vision, and the view of the playing field, critical for an executive producer. I?m delighted we?ll again be able to work together.?
?
Additionally, Obermann has added several senior producers including: Leslie Bella-Henry, who joins Current from CNN where she worked on Lou Dobbs? program; Bob Lilly, who worked with Olbermann at CNN in the 1980s as well as during both of Olbermann?s stints at MSNBC; Aaron Volkman, who joins Current from MLB Network.
Christopher Ballante, formerly of CNN, has been tapped as director of Countdown. Katy Ramirez Karp, who booked for Olbermann?s show at MSNBC, has been named senior booking producer. Joe Lapointe, who has spent more than 30 years as a sportswriter at The New York Times, has been hired as a segment producer. And Joel Schwartzberg, formerly of PBS Interactive, has been appointed executive producer for Countdown?s Web site.
Countdown with Keith Olbermann premieres June 20 on Current.
